The Carle welcomes cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter, and children’s book author and illustrator Jules Feiffer.
As an artist and writer of probing wit and uncommon humanity, Jules Feiffer has made a breathtakingly varied contribution to America’s cultural life for over 50 years. From his Village Voice editorial cartoons to his plays and screenplays including Little Murders and Carnal Knowledge, Feiffer’s satirical outlook has helped define us politically, sexually, and socially. He has excelled in journalism, film, and off Broadway. This exhibition will focus on his equally prodigious talents as an author and illustrator of children’s books. Time: 3:30 - 5:30 pm Ages 18 and up (Class size 4-8) Gauch’s passion has always been making the most perfect children’s books. Learn from this experienced editor and writer what moves the words on a page and how to make a good story. Together with her good sense of 'the rhythm and rightness of things' and her enthusiasm and vision for making each book she works on a work of art, Gauch has been instrumental in creating many books that have touched the hearts of the children who read them.
